Shang Daily Practice

Learn the art. Practise its principles. Live them.

Formal Tai Chi matters. So does what happens between lessons. Shang Daily Practice connects Tai Chi, supporting practices and ordinary daily moments into one lifestyle of practice.

Micro Tai Chi

2–10 minute practices linked to principles taught in the main curriculum: structure, Song, empty and full, stepping, coordination, breath and more.

Supporting Practice

Breathing, relaxation, ankle circles, foot awareness, gentle mobility and other practices that support movement and awareness. We label these honestly rather than pretending every useful exercise is a Tai Chi form movement.

Everyday Tai Chi

Before getting out of bed, while seated, waiting for transport, walking outside, standing at the kettle or preparing for sleep: notice and practise principles in real life.

The whole matters. Isolated practices are not the destination. Each practice should reconnect body, mind, breath, intention and — where appropriate — traditional ideas such as Qi to increasingly integrated Tai Chi.
